Leaving Scotland Slowly

Being on a visit, or to be precise long term visit in Yarrow is very, and I mean very, pleasant experience. It is so pleasant that we are really struggling to leave. Yesterday we have picked up in Edinburgh almost all parts and spares for the bike that we may possibly need and still we are probably not going to leave before Monday. And the excuse this time is that we hope Jiří will come over on Sunday with his friend. Besides there are many other reasons..

For one, Siroky are just the people you want to be with – there is no rush, pressure or stress that would make your staying uncomfortable. Quite on the contrary, there is hardly anything I can think of that would make it unpleasant at all, if I don’t count the chill in the bedroom but that is just a minor problem easily solved with a hot water bottle. Some of you may remember my elaboration on this theme earlier so I will only mention some highlights – we did have a few nice and hot days, we had a sausage bbq party, we had cycled a bit around, we had drank a lot of coffee, we had watch number of movies and we had ate a lot of nice and sweets and tasteful food.

And we had also played, and I hope we will continue doing so until we leave, a game of Kubb. It is a brilliant game supposedly played by Vikings (as the story goes). I would not go into details, but here you can have a look on few pictures of some of our matches. It is real fun and I say that even though I am not particularly good at it. Simply aiming at few blocks of wood in a distance is not as easy as it seems..
