Merry Christmas. Hope that everyone reading this is having a Merry Christmas that they can be happy with people they love and that the good news of Christmas will uplift their hearts and feelings.
We are staying with Martina and Milan today and will celebrate the Christmas Eve with them. For it is today that is celebrated the most in Czech and in translation we call today the Generous Day and Evening. It is the day when we get the presents, either from other people or from “little Jesus” himself. I like this day – we will decorate the Christmas tree, prepare the dinner, finish some last minute touches on presents, will set the table for Christmas dinner, and then eat, eat and unwrap the presents. We also go to church at 5pm which marks nicely the end of the preparations for the Christmas and the coming if Jesus as after we come home there is no more of it but we enjoy the time together. As my cousins in Scotland say, this year we will praise twice for the future as we are also planning to go to catholic mass on midnight as that is the tradition that Adam has brought from his family.
So hope that everyone’s day will be nice and that hopefully you have some nice and positive time ahead and the weather is little bit more Christmasy than here (it is dark outside and temperatures are above zero so all snow has melted). Have a lovely day and hope to hear from or see you soon. And now that all the gifts are finished we might even have more time to spare for this blog.
